Q & A:

How would you rate today’ training from 0-10?

Spescare Paarl – Occupational Therapist: “8”

Comments: “Realising the patient’s potential level of independence is more often than not, not his functional level of independence and thus not a true reflect for D/C. Processing of scores at medical aid, requirements for longer stay – increasing of B scores. Occupational therapist, communicating potential level of pt with nursing staff to improve functional scores/independence”

Q & A:

How would you rate today’ training from 0-10?

Spescare Paarl – Shannon Jephtha – Reg Nurse: “10”

Comments: “Very interactive, was able to address anything that comes to mind.  My rigid, acute hospital mindset was changed into thinking more rehabilitative.  All the expectations was reached.  Registered nurse – to identify client’s needs so that it can be addressed to that patient can return to optimal functioning.”

Q & A:

How would you rate today’ training from 0-10?

Spescare Paarl – Malieka Hendricks– Carer: “10”

Comments: “The fact that we could interact with the whole team and come up with problems and solutions in real time.  It was very informative.  The only thing I would love is to know when all this would come into effect.  I am a Care Worker, work hands on with the patients.”

Q & A:

How would you rate today’ training from 0-10?

Spescare Hermanus – Doctor: “10”

Comments: “Very important to me would that the B-scoring must be patient cantered and not just about getting score-up temporally but consistent/permanent.”

Q & A:

How would you rate today’ training from 0-10?

Spescare Hermanus – Physician’s Associate: “10”

Comments: “Excellent given the diverse make-up of the forget audience, seemed accessible to all.  Would rate at 8 (- 2 for too much Afrikaans, needed more as an educational).  The interaction, the exchange of ideas, the relaxe3d climate – these were very conducive to my learning.  Stats – secondary data analyses on inter-rate reliabilities etc.  Physician’s associate, discipline – Nursing.  Interact with MDT mostly on behalf of and with the medical doctors.”

How would you rate today’ training from 0-10?

Spescare Strand – Lee Meyer -Speech Therapist: “9”

Comments: “Very good. Long but very effective way of thinking. Looking forward to seeing it in practice. Different way of thinking. Gives a quantitative measure to our valuable work which is difficult to quantify. Implementation + training. I love teaching, especially carers! In looking at further research using these measures linking my MPH with stroke + Beta scores. Many thanks. I thoroughly enjoyed today. Looking forward to seeing how I can integrate this knowledge. Practically: Aircon needs to swing. Materials. Info. Refreshments. Organization.”

Q & A:

How would you rate today’ training from 0-10?

Spescare Strand – Case Manager: “9”

Comments: “Facilitators sense of humour. Timely, wants order in class to bring over points. The interaction between different role players. Although this is more a facility issue. This is addressed in the training, perhaps management should attend this training with carers etc. Thank you for the discussion and looking forward to our future discussion on SADFM.  This could be an important role in sub-acute and must be driven hard by management. The training was well presented.”

Q & A:

How would you rate today’ training from 0-10?

Hennie’s use of humour in explaining the tool is great for monitoring patient’s improvement. Application of Beta-testing vs use of compensatory mechanisms for long term prognosis & functional recovery of patients (esp. Neuro).”
